Darren Moore WBA
Named manager of the month and surely has to be given the job. Seems to be a intelligent guy, knows the club and got them playing

But if you are the West Brom owners and you don't want him for what ever reason you know that there will be a public outcry especially from the there is no enough black managers lobby if he does not get it.

Good luck to him, deserves it.

He's a massive God botherer so if West Brom do not win the champions league within 3 seasons we know there is no God, seems a reasonable way to settle that argument?

Plus why do the baggies call him Big Dave??

Re: Darren Moore WBA
Went back to the Pulis style and tactics which the squad was purchased / built for.

Takes time to change styles on a budget and means a wholesale change of personnel which is why, unless you can afford the very best like City ad others, it takes a few seasons. Fans want it all to change overnight . I understand WBA and Stoke fans wanted better football ( like us) but ultimately it has cost them. Hate Pulis or not he probably would have kept them both up if he was still there at either club.

Of course the alternative view is that it will be more fun to watch them in the EFL where they will win a lot more games. Sunderland fans might disagree with that though :-)

Is Darren Moore WBA somehow similar to Frank Lampard OBE?

Re: Darren Moore WBA
Just relegated and he's cheap, so he was never not being given it.

Earnt it though.

He had a positive effect so should have the chance to carry on his work.

He may fail over a longer term, he may succeed over a longer term, but he has earned the right to have a go at the job.

If they don't decide to give him the job I wouldn't want to be the bloke to tell him!!

Why are we concerning ourselves over who Championship side West Brom appoint as manager?

1) The Rooney Rule can only be seen as a good thing, it allows BME candidates to get a foot in the door and a chance to impress in an interview. It literally harms nobody. To be against it, is a bit weird.

2) This is what happens when you give young English coaches a chance over the same old boys club merry-go round. Our young english coaches are just as good as their peers in spain/germany, reflected in the fact that the younger England teams are pretty unstoppable .

Good luck to him, hope they appoint him. Seems a good football bloke, loves his club, and clearly has the passion that makes others follow.

His skin colour is relevant.

If they don't give him the job and appoint a white bloke there'll be UPROAR.

If he wants the job, and they don’t give it to him, they need their heads testing. Ideal candidate. Local, loves the club, done a very good job so far.

I've always baulked at affirmative action in football and the whole why the lack of black managers debate. I have based my opinion on a simple logic; if someone is good enough then the money involved in football means that the person who delivers the results gets the job regardless of colour. No club owner would care about skin colour if the results worked, but fuck. Darren has done very well as a manager. Paul Ince has not.

Re: Darren Moore WBA
I suspect this may have more to do with the fact he's Baggies born and bred than anything else.

Lad on the ground, knows the place inside out and huge respect from within and now without the club.

Deserves the job and hopefully sticks there

I dont think they will make a decision until they know what is going to happen regarding relegation, which could be tonight. I can understand that.

Re: Darren Moore WBA
Seems like a really good lad. It's so often the journeymen who turn out to be the best managers, and when you see that Jocko circus appointing Gerrard, ffs, it'd be refreshing to see a bloke like this get a chance.
